The WS (French speaking) of Belgium are organising a weekend on 21 and 22 April 2018 around the new production of Lohengrin.
The renovation works that have necessitated the closure of La Monnaie over the past two years are now completed, and the much-awaited and reported new Lohengrin, directed by Olivier Py is on the progreamme. Following discussions with the director of the opera house, M. Peter de Caluwe, a number of places have been reserved for Wagner Societies for the matinée at 3pm on 22 April 2018.

As speaker we shall be privileged to hear Professor Michal Piotr Mrozowicki of the University of Gdansk, who will speak about performances of Lohengrin in Brussels and in in France. We hope also to have as speakers the Dramaturg and others involved in the production.
Guests will also enjoy a private tour of La Monnaie.
The programme will round up with a meal on the Saturday evening and a visit on Sunday morning to the "Fin de Siècle " museum, which has an interesting section devoted to Richard Wagner.
