Update Coronavirus / COVID-19

Our members throughout the world are all affected by this pandemic.  Most Wagner Societies have had to cancel their forthcoming events until at least the end of April and most opera houses and concert halls have gone dark.  While we very much regret this, the safety and wellbeing of all our member societies and all the individual members of these societies is of paramount importance to us. On the positive side this affords us the time to enjoy our music in our homes.  Many opera houses are streaming operas from their archives, and naturally several Wagner operas will feature.  We will shortly publish a comprehensive list of these offerings, along with other cultural activities that you can enjoy from the comfort of your favourite armchair and we will update the list as often as possible.  Wagner's music will afford us all great consolation and inspiration during these dark days.

I should like to welcome you to our Website of the Richard Wagner Association International.
The RWVI all our member societies around the world under one roof.

The purpose of our association is to awaken your interest in Richard Wagner's work and to deepen your understanding of it.

Our mission is the promotion of international cooperation and the preservation of the Bayreuth Festival, along with fostering communications among our members around the world.

Particularly close to our hearts is the support of the Bayreuth Scholarship Foundation, which was established by Richard Wagner himself in 1882.  This Foundation enables young artists to participate in the Festival with an attractive cultural programme.

I hope you enjoy studying our website. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any suggestions.
