Yuval Sharon to replace Alvis Hermanis as director of Bayreuth's 2018 Lohengrin
There is some speculation as to the reasons for Hermanis' withdrawal from his Bayreuth commitment, which was announced recently.

The production of Lohengrin will now be turned over to American director Yuval Sharon, who is best known for his recent Karlsruhe productions of Die Walkure and John Adams’ Dr. Atomic.
