Musik im Wald

On August 21, 2026, the RWVI hosted a special event near Bayreuth: "Musik im Wald".

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Bayreuth Festival, the RWVI invited its members and friends to an extraordinary evening at a place closely linked to Richard Wagner. In the picturesque park of Fantaisie Palace in Donndorf, music, history, nature and gastronomy came together to create a unique experience.

In the surrounding forests and parklands, Wagner once found peace and inspiration on his walks to continue working on ideas that would later find their way into Götterdämmerung, the final part of his monumental Ring of the Nibelung.

The program was complemented by lectures, musical contributions, a surprise concert in the forest and a festive gala dinner in the café of Fantaisie Palace.

"Musik im Wald" offered an unforgettable evening where the spirit of Richard Wagner could be experienced at one of the most authentic Wagner sites in the Bayreuth region.
