Dear Presidents of Wagner Societies, dear Wagner lovers
The 107th Bayreuth Festival will take place from 25 July to 29 August 2018 and the eyes of the opera world, and especially those of Wagner lovers are once again focused on Bayreuth.
This year's new production of Lohengrin is awaited with great excitement. The new interpretation of the opera, directed by Israeli-American director Yuval Sharon, will be conducted by Music Director Christian Thielemann.
The productions from the last few years, Tristan und Isolde, Parsifal and Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg were highly acclaimed by both the public and the media.
If you are unable come to Bayreuth this year, you will have the opportunity to experience the premiere live on July 25th in selected cinemas in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Lisbon.
The Richard Wagner Verband International wishes the Festival Management and the entire Festival ensemble, the Wagner Societies world-wide and all Wagner fans a successful Festival season.
