Götterdämmerung in Würzburg

And just like Wagner, whose musical career began at this theatre, they are starting with Götterdämmerung directed by Tomo Sagao.
One can only congratulate this theatre on having as its General Music Director Mr. Calesso who had the knowledge of the work and the courage to decide in favour of the orchestral version by Eberhard Kloke and to perform it for the first time in order to serve Wagner's musical intentions in a special way with the use of the instruments typical of the Ring.
Thomas Kestler, Chairman of the WS Würzburg-Unterfranken and Chairman of the Herbert Hillman Margot Müller Foundation, pledged in the spirit of the late Margot Müller at the premiere to continue the financial support of the production of the other works in the cycle .
Further performances of Götterdämmerung will take place on 30.5.19, 9.6.19, 16.6.19, 20.6.19, 30.6.19, 14.7.19 and 20.7.19.
