The Léman Lyriques Festival
.....going to the sources of the most outstanding works of an era, a style, a dramaturgy, a voice, a composer.
Thus the Festival dedicates its first edition to the most important segments of Richard Wagner's major works, which, from the Wesendonck Lieder cycle, from the untrammeled love of Tristan & Isolde to the ultimate love duo of Siegfried and Brünnhilde, bringing together and merging in a single dramatic gesture the composer's intimate experience and the expression of the universal passions he paints and sublimates through his works.
This singular path thus offers four concerts through which the music and poetry of our time are invited, in counterpoint to the Wagnerian pages, as echoes, mirrors of the modernity of the master's poetic and lyrical work. The greatest Wagnerian voices of today - Torsten Kerl and Petra Lang - accompanied by the Ose! symphony orchestra and musicians from the Geneva University of Music, will share the stage with the great voices of tomorrow: Jennifer Holloway and Issachah Savage. Heritage, transmission, modernity and creation thus lay the aesthetic foundations for a lyrical event with innovative designs and international influence.
The festival takes places under the patronage of Christa Ludwig, and will devote, in her presence, a great evening tribute to her.
