Wagner Society of New York Special Programs During the Bayreuth Festival This Summer
The Wagner Society of New York will offer programs during the upcoming Bayreuth Festival to explore Richard Wagner’s works in depth with artists performing this summer. Programs are offered daily beginning 21 August through 25 August, 2023.
    Performers will discuss their careers, the challenges and rewards of working in Bayreuth, and will answer questions in an informal atmosphere.  All programs are in English and will start at 10:30 a.m. and last one hour.  Programs will be held at the Arvena Kongress Hotel, Eduard-Bayerlein Straße 5a, 95445, Bayreuth, Germany.  Light refreshments will be served.  Admission is $20 in advance, or €20 at the door (subject to space availability; cash only).  Advance reservations can be made at:

    Tuesday, 22 August:  Stephanie Houtzeel (Wellgunde and Siegrune in Ring Cycle)
    Wednesday, 23 August:  Rixon Thomas (English Horn in Tristan und Isolde)
   Thursday, 24 August:  Catherine Foster (Brünnhilde in Ring Cycle and Isolde in Tristan und Isolde)
   Friday, 25 August:  Betsy Horne (Flower Maiden in Parsifal)
