Canadian opera expert Iain Scott, a close friend and associate of the late Father Owen Lee, will speak on “Remembering Father Lee.” Father Lee, a much-loved commentator on the Metropolitan Opera Saturday broadcasts from 1983-2006, died in July at the age of 89. A professor of classics at the University of Toronto, Father Lee also published several well-regarded books on Wagner. A recipient of WSWDC’s Wagner Award, he enjoyed an especially warm relationship with the Wagner Society of Washington, DC.
